Situated in the charming village of Paley, in the south of the Seine et Marne department (vallée du Lunain) and 1 hour from the gates of Paris, Château de Paley, a former Templar knighthouse, is set in 3 hectares of grounds including the fortified building, its courtyard, a meadow, a greenhouse and kitchen garden, an orchard and a wood.
The foundations of the château were laid in the 12th century. A square watchtower containing a spiral staircase, impressive 6-metre-high ramparts surrounding the three-level inner courtyard, a 15-metre-high corner tower (later used as a dovecote) and a crypt all date from this period. The body of the building was subsequently extensively altered in different eras, giving the château its current eclectic architectural style, while retaining its fortified appearance. Inside: a Louis XV-style salon, a spacious dining room, a grand staircase and period bedrooms.
The dovecote and surrounding walls are listed as historic monuments.
The authentic character of the building, its fortified courtyard, highly romantic, its dovecote and its preserved interiors, the beauty and conservation of some of the castle's rooms, make them ideal for filming of all kinds.
Owned by a young creative couple since 2020, the castle is open to hosting shootings, events, performances, concerts, plays, readings, seminars.
It is located in the iconic village of Paley, offering multiple guest houses and accommodation, for the comfort of all your teams.
